You’re Not Lost. You’re Just Buried.

“I’m not here to have all the answers. I’m here to ask better questions and be honest about what I’m finding.”
If you landed here, you’re probably wondering why you’re not happy. Why each day feels like the last. Why you feel like you’re not good enough, or like you’re just taking up space.
Or maybe you’re the opposite—everything is fine, right? This is just how things are. These struggles are temporary. This is just a test and the good times are coming. You have to do this, it’s your job. Everything is fine. Except… it’s not. And you know it’s not.
Except… it’s not. And you know it’s not. But you don’t know how to say it out loud.
You’re not broken. You’re not lazy. You’re not “too much” or “not enough.”
You’re just wearing armor. And you’ve been wearing it so long you forgot it’s there.
Who I am
Hi. i’m Jennifer.
Single mom of two. Working in financial services by day yes, someone who questions everything ended up in a world of strict rules. the irony is not lost on me.
i’ve always been the person asking “but why?” when everyone else just accepted how things were. But somewhere around college, i started noticing these voices in my head and i realized: these aren’t even mine.
Turns out, a lot of what i thought was “just how i am” was actually things other people said that i’d internalized. Stories i’d picked up and carried like they were truth.
We all have the right to know ourselves. The real ourselves. Not the version we perform the actual, messy, complicated, beautiful truth of who we are.
i’m not an expert. i’m just someone a few steps ahead on the path, turning around to say hey, this part’s confusing, but you’re not lost. Here’s what helped me.

The Armor
Your armor saved you.
That wasn’t weakness. That was survival. That was brilliant, actually.
That mask you wear? The one that says “I’m fine” when you’re drowning? The walls you built? The way you learned to shrink yourself, perform, be who everyone needed?
The problem isn’t that you wore armor. The problem is you forgot you were wearing it.
You wore it so long it became your skin. And now the armor that once kept you safe is keeping you trapped.
You built that armor because you needed it. Maybe you were a kid and it wasn’t safe to be big. Maybe you learned that your real feelings were “too much.” Whatever the reason that mask protected you when you needed protecting.

this isn’t about ripping off the armor. it’s about:
let’s be real
